Two maternity wards, one family

The arrival of their newborn coincided with a happy canine event: their golden retriever gave birth to a litter of equally adorable puppies. Two mothers under one roof, each devoted to her offspring with unwavering attention. To ensure harmony and safety, the parents had established a meticulous system: separate spaces for the puppies, constant monitoring, and absolute vigilance. Everything seemed perfectly under control. At least, that’s how it appeared…

An unexpected moment of grace

That day, the baby monitor screen lit up discreetly. Nothing alarming. Yet, upon closer inspection, a detail caught their eye. Their dog, usually so calm, parted the barrier with an almost ceremonial delicacy. Carrying one of her puppies in her mouth, she advanced with touching care. Every movement was calculated, every step imbued with solemnity. She crossed the hallway… and entered the child’s room.

Without making a sound, she approaches the crib. And there, under the astonished gaze of the parents, she tenderly places her puppy against the sleeping baby.
