Cream Donuts (Filled Donuts)
Ingredients:
For the Donuts:
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Cream Filling:
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker cream)
Instructions:
Make the Dough:
In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Add the melted butter, salt, and eggs to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
