Homemade Strawberry Vinegar from Strawberry Tops (Easy & Zero-Waste)

Ingredients

  • Strawberry tops

  • White wine vinegar

How to Make Strawberry Top Vinegar

Step 1
Begin by collecting clean strawberry tops (hulls) — the leafy ends and any attached bits of fruit. Rinse them gently under cold water and pat dry.

Step 2
Place the tops into a clean glass jar, filling it about halfway. Pour in enough white wine vinegar to completely cover the tops. Seal the jar tightly with a lid.
Store the jar in a cool, dark place, like a pantry or cupboard, for at least 48 hours. For a deeper flavor, let it steep up to 7 days.

Step 3
Once steeped, strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean glass bottle or container. Discard the solids.

Step 4
Seal the container tightly and store in a cool, dry place.

Step 5
Your strawberry vinegar is now ready to use!
