Quick Crispy Puff Pastry (15-Minute Version)
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cold water
3 tablespoons cold butter (or vegetable oil, if preferred)
Additional flour for rolling
Instructions:
Prepare the dough:
In a bowl, mix the flour and salt.
Add the cold butter (cut it into small cubes) or oil.
Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, rub or cut the butter into the flour until the mixture looks like coarse breadcrumbs with some small chunks of butter remaining.
Add water:
Slowly add the cold water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough just comes together. You may not need all the water, so be careful not to make it too wet. You want a firm, slightly crumbly dough.
