There is no definitive “cure” for the syndrome because it is a genetic condition, but early intervention improves the child’s quality of life significantly:
Occupational and natural therapy: to strengthen muscles and improve motor skills.
Speech and speech: To help the child communicate and overcome speech delay.
Psychosocial support: their integration into society and education to enhance their independence1
Health and periodic follow-up
Children with Down syndrome may be more vulnerable to some health challenges that require continuous medical follow-up through the Saudi Ministry of Health platform:
Heart problems: Birth defects in the heart may appear from birth.
Thyroid gland: increased likelihood of hypothyroidism.
Hearing and sight: the need for periodic examination to ensure the integrity of the senses.
